We all love our Hydrangea macrophylla plants, but they are the least cold-hardy species and often bloom poorly following a harsh Cape Cod winter. During this small-group workshop session, Heritage’s Curator of Hydrangeas, and Cape Cod Hydrangea Society Co-President, Mal Condon, will provide information and demonstrate protection techniques to help your plants better endure the tough winters. Lots of useful winter protection components have become available over the last couple of years, and Mal is always evaluating these improved products and is eager to share his newest techniques and developments. He’ll demonstrate step-by-step procedures, display the tools and materials discussed, and share their sources.
